FEATURED DESIGNER - Judaica by Rishfeld Designs

Pamela Rishfeld has always been involved in the arts. Born and raised in the artistic environment of New York City, she began to get interested in art, design and fabric. Her first recollection of doing needlework was a very large cross-stitched tablecloth that she and her sister Linda worked on together. When she was about seven, she sat down at the sewing machine and a pattern that she had cut out of a piece of newspaper, made a bathing suit. To everyone's surprise, it fit. Her connection with textiles was made and hasn't been broken since. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where Pamela earned a degree in textile design, she worked as an Artist, Assistant Stylist, Stylist, Free-lance Designer, Assistant Director of Textiles and Production Weaving Assistant. At the same time she continued to study textiles with major fiber artists.

Over the years, Pamela has been in many art, needlework and quilt shows around the country, winning several awards. Her own work has been published in several books and magazines. She was a featured guest on the hit TV show Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson, a show that continues to run every year. After relocating to California in 1984, and working for JB Designs for many years, Pamela realized there was a need for fine Judaic kits and patterns, so she created Rishfeld Designs as a way to market her own designs. Along with her husband George, she recently expanded Rishfeld Designs to incorporate handpainted canvases from many other noted artists as well as Pamela's own designs.

We are pleased to showcase Rishfeld Designs in our Online Trunk Show. The canvases are divided into several groups, but feel free to browse them all, as many of the canvases work well as pictures, pillows and book covers.
